The Latest in Sports Book Design

The Silver Legacy Race & Sports Book, one of WORTHGROUP’s latest Reno projects, opened with an official ribbon cutting ceremony last Thursday for the first NFL regular season game. This is one of several Sports Book renovation projects our firm has recently undertaken. With the rise of eSports betting, many brick and mortar Sports Book locations are updating their spaces and offerings to appeal to the next generation of Race and Sports betters.

Here are 5-trends WORTHGROUP has identified in Race & Sports Book facilities:

Guests often stay at Silver Legacy for a full day of games and beyond, so it’s critical that they are comfortable. A mix of bar seating, High-top seating, and low, round-table seating is available throughout the space to maximize versatility. Over-sized Gasser Park Avenue Style upholstered chairs were selected for optimal comfort. Covered in a neutral leather material, they compliment the warm, natural wood tones throughout the space and create a lounge like atmosphere. Personal betting screens accompany the individual seating for guest’s convenience and ease of betting. To accommodate large sporting events, the space opens up to allow for portable stadium seating – it’s almost like being at the game!

TECHNOLOGY

High-end technology provided by William Hill is showcased with a 150 sq ft multi-media wall made up of 30 stadium quality screens that can be customized to the audience. Sixteen built-in screens line the inside of the bar and twenty screens surround the perimeter. Banks of eight 65″ flat screens flank either side of the room  – ensuring that guests are surrounded by the action and don’t miss a second of the games.

EPIC BAR

WORTHGROUP re-designed the bar by expanding it to 650 sq. ft. and relocating it from the back corner of the Sports Book to the center of the space. By creating a larger, 360 degree bar experience WORTHGROUP optimized game & race viewing capabilities at the bar, increased the amount of bar-generated revenue, and designed a centrical social space for mingling during non-betting hours. With a choice of 20 beers on tap, guests have no shortage of brew options.

LIGHTING DESIGN

LED lights are integrated into the interior architecture of the space to elevate the sensorial experience. Four illuminated columns accent the corners of the bar with customizable color that glows forth and acts as both wayfinding for the bar and an atmosphere generating feature design. Behind the bar, two 3-layer shelves and counters are designed with illuminated bases for bottles and glassware to create mystique and excitement in the space. Seven LED pillars light up the wagering counter as well. All lighting elements are customizable and color independent, so team spirit is amplified elevating the overall sporting experience.

VENUE VERSATILITY

The Silver Legacy Sports Book is designed to maximize the versatility of the space by the built-in ability to transform to a lounge post games. Most Sports Books close by 10pm after the last race or game resulting in missed revenue opportunities. Silver Legacy converts to a high-end lounge from 10pm-2am equipped with a full bar, enhanced media display on all the big screens, customized light show, music and space to dance.
